Meet Chris Dockery

Veteran. Small Businessman. Public Servant. Proven Conservative.

"I’m ready to report for duty once again to serve the people of Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties in the State House. I’ll stand strong against the Leftist agenda in Georgia to protect our families, conservative values, and our future."

Chris Dockery’s roots run deep in North Georgia. He graduated from White County High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of North Georgia. After graduating from UNG, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. During his service, Dockery commanded troops at various levels in both peace time and combat, including a tour in Iraq from 2005-2006 where he commanded the 124th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel 2017.

Dockery also worked as a law enforcement officer for 6 years before starting his own general contracting business. A successful small business owner, Dockery founded DockCo Construction in 1996 that he and his still family still operate today.

A proven public servant, Dockery is currently serving his 4th term as Lumpkin County Commission Chairman. He has a proven track record of working with citizens, fellow Commissioners, and county and community leaders to move Lumpkin County forward in a positive direction. In his role, he is also active in the Association of County Commissioners. He holds numerous leadership positions in ACCG, including, serving as a member of ACCG’s Georgia Legislative Policy Council and serve as District II representative on the Board of Managers, representing counties across North Georgia. He previously served as board member of the Development Authority of Lumpkin County and on the Lumpkin County Water and Sewerage Authority from 2008-2012.

Dockery and his wife, Krista, have three children. They are active members of Town Creek Baptist Church. Outside of his numerous roles, he enjoys tournament bass fishing with his son.
